How to Survive on the Dance Floor

  • Soul Sanctuary 808 Tiogue Avenue Coventry, RI, 02816 United States (map)

Having fun on the social dance floor may seem impossible if you believe you have two left feet, feel self-conscious, or rhythmically challenged.

When music starts to play and you are standing on the sidelines, DO YOU:

  • Pretend you don’t care that you are not dancing, but really wish you could?

  • Wonder if you’ll look foolish, awkward, or like Elaine from Seinfeld TV Show?

  • Use “liquid courage” as the only go-to remedy that will get you onto the dance floor?

  • Have no idea what to do with your body and not sure if you will fit in?

  • Feel bored doing the same step over and over and wish you could do something different?

HOW TO SURVIVE ON THE DANCE FLOOR will teach you the basics for dance floor confidence to have fun at parties, weddings, clubs, work functions, and any social dance floor.

In this fun, judgement-free workshop, you will learn:

  • The #1 skill you already have to survive on the dance floor

  • How to "find the beat" in any music so you know exactly how to dance to it

  • 10 basic steps to show you what to do with your feet and hands so you look totally natural on the dance floor

  • Transformational tool that teaches you the language of dance and turns one step into many

  • And more!

“I learned exactly what I needed to be more comfortable and (yes!) have a great time on the dance floor at social events. Because of your program, I realized that I don’t need to bring a dance partner or know a lot of complicated steps. I’d highly recommend this for all the people who are missing out on this vital (and fun!) part of their social life.” – Jesse

“What I liked best about your program was YOU and how you presented the material. I learned how to feel more comfortable on the dance floor and that has bolstered my confidence. Our daughter’s wedding was beautiful, and we had a great time dancing. We truly enjoyed the lessons, learned a lot, remembered the steps, and looked pretty good on the dance floor.” – Mary

FAQS

What if I've never danced before?

This is for YOU! This course is designed with the absolute beginner, self-proclaimed two-left footer, and not yet confident in mind. We start super simple and build slowly.

Do I need any dance experience?

Absolutely none. If you can breathe, you can move. If you can move, you can dance – aka move your body and breathe! If you already know some basics, the transformation tool that teaches you to turn one step into many will expand your creativity on the dance floor.

What if I feel self-conscious?

You are not alone! It is normal to feel nervous or unsure about your body and what it might look like while moving in a culture that has judged, criticized, shamed, or bypassed the sacred vessel for thousands of years. This is a judgment-free zone and the freedom that awaits you is worth some initial discomfort as you reclaim your birthright to dance!\
